Hi!
I would skip the night in Zürich and head straight to Luzern. If you want to visit Zurich on arrival day, you can always store your luggage at the main station, have lunch, and walk around for 2-3 hours before resuming your journey to Luzern. It is all you need to get a good view of Zurich IMO

And unless your flight is early in the morning, I would consider staying 2 nights in Lausanne instead of 1 in Lausanne and 1 in Genève.

The rest seems OK to me.

Agreed, you’re moving too much. Minimum 2 nights at each stop.
3 nights Luzern, 3 nights Interlaken, 2 nights Zermatt & 2 nights Montreux, Vevey or Lausanne
Or
3 nights Luzern, 4 nights Interlaken & 3 nights Montreux

Moving less allows you to do and see more.

Zermatt is always unpredictable. Yes, it will likely be cool, maybe cold, maybe not. I have been there in early October and had to buy long underwear to start the day but was in shirtsleeves by the end.

Based on your request for suggestions of routes and things to do, I highly recommend getting Rick Steves”’ guide book for Switzerland. Buy it, borrow it, get it from the library, but it has the answers you need and much info on logistics. Switzerland can be confusing. Rick demystifies it, especially for the first time visitor.
