The journey can be as interesting as the destination. We enjoyed a one day out and back excursion on the Bernina Express. You can start from Basel and connect to one of the "panorama" express trains and/or use the express to get to a destination (e.g. Glacer Express to) Zermatt. BTW "Express" does not mean fast.
