Hello…

Looking for itinerary recommendations for a 7 day trip planned in May. Probably flying into Geneva and everything else had yet to be determined.

Thanks for the help!

7 days 6 nights? Flying back out of Geneva or moving on elsewhere in Europe?

Yes, 7 days and 6 nights…thinking of extending though.

Open to flying out somewhere else…looking for flights now but it’s hard without knowing the plan so trying to figure that out first.

2 nights Montreux, Golden Pass rail to Interlaken Ost connecting to Lauterbrunnen and Muerren or Wengen for 3 nights, then rail to Luzern for 1 night, early train to Zurich Airport for flight home

You haven’t said what you enjoy doing or seeing. Are you hoping to hike, see historical sites, go to lakes…..? And is this end of May or beginning of May. The dates make a difference.

I like Sam’s plan. Even better if you can add 1 or 2 nights. With 2 nights add 1 each to Berner Oberland and Luzern.

Thank you all for the replies.

I am open to staying a few extra days, and have been looking into maybe flying into Milan and out of Zurich.

I am open to doing anything. Want to experience the best of Switzerland and the dates are not set. What if the advantage to later in the month vs the beginning of May.

Also, would the fall be a better time to travel?

Late May is better, I think. Early September could be even better, but busier. But the weather gods are fickle and you just never know. It has been a mild winter in the Alps this year. Golf course was packed in Sion a month ago.

Milan works if you are going to Zermatt first thing. You can get a bus to Domodossola from MXP, then trains to Zermatt. Or take a train direct to Lugano from MXP, then to Locarno and the scenic Cento Valli railway to Domodossola.
