6 day B-O pass question

So I am rearranging my Swiss itinerary again... and came to conclusion that I'll be spending 6 nights at Jungflau region and then head to Zermatt for 3nights.
I'll be coming from Lucern - So the question is..
Should I buy 6 day B-O pass on a travel day to take advantage of travel from Lucern to Wengen (which is covered on the pass)
or should I wait until the next day, so that part of travel to Zermatt is covered by B-O pass.

Does the 6day B-O pass expire on the midnight of the 6th day ? or in the morning of the 7th day (what time exactly??)
.. If it's the latter, I could take advantage to use it to goto Zermatt half way early morning ..
thank you in advance for your input..

The B-O pass only covers the slow (but scenic) route to Brig, not the fast route to Visp. So using it for your transfer to Zermatt may not be what you want to do.

The pass probably expires at 5:00 the day after the last official day. This so you can still take a late night train or bus that runs beyond midnight. Not useful for going to Zermatt.

With the Half Fare Card, the cost of Luzern to Wengen is 24.50 CHF. For Wengen to Brig (via Kandersteg) with the HFC it is 31.50 CHF. So save 7 CHF using it for the latter.

But if you use Day 1 of the BO Pass to travel from Luzern to your Berner Oberland village, you will have the use of it the rest of the day to go joyriding on the lifts for free.

That is what we would do.
