4 days Basel to Milan end of may

We’re two moderately active seniors who are ending a river cruise in Basel May 21 and want to extend our trip to see some of Switzerland. We are Florida flatlanders so very high elevations may be difficult for us. I think we will fly home to Miami from Milan, but Zürich might also be an option. Can anyone recommend an itinerary to tour by train? My outline so far is day 1 : Basel am then train to Zurich. overnight Zürich. Day 2 am train to Lucerne. Evening train to Interlaken . Overnight Interlaken. . Day 3 more interlaken then overnight lauterbrunnrn. Day 4 am train to Zetmott. overnight Zermott. Day 5 -train to- Milan.or Zürich /fly to Miami. Too much? Do you think we should consider an organized tour instead? Thanks!

That is a lot of moving around, May I suggest a route that covers most of those places, but in a more logical and pleasant route, with fewer hotel changes?

Day 1, Basel to Lauterbrunnen (only 20 minutes past Interlaken by train, so no need for a hotel in both). Sp[end 2 nights here, exploring the alpine villages and enjoying the scenery.

Day 3: scenic train to Luzern, spend 1 night.

Day 4: Gotthard Panorama Express boat plus train to Lugano in Ticino, the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. This is much closer to Milan for your flight home than Zermatt is.

Day 5: Lugano to Milan Malpensa in ample time for your flight home.

Another option. Again skip Zurich and take a train directly to Luzern, stay 2 nights, then train to Lauterbrunnen, stay 2 nights, then train to Zermatt, stay 1 night, then train to Milan. You will have to send a night in Milan or the area because flights to North American depart late morning or early afternoon.
