3 Days from Zurich to Bellagio

We arrive 3rd week of August at 6AM into Zurich and have 3 nights we can spend in Switzerland until we need to be in Bellagio. We will be traveling by train. Would love to see the Zermatt and Oberland Bernese area (Wengen, Gindelwald, Junfrau ) but know we are limited time and don't want to set an unrealistic itinerary. Any suggestions are so appreciated, as this is a surprise trip and I haven't had any time to investigate a lot of options. Thank you in advance!

If you try to do Berner Oberland or Zermatt, you’ll spend your first day traveling 3.5 hours and your last day traveling 7-8 hours. That’s a lot for 2 days somewhere, but if you want to do it, pick one or the other and be prepared for a whirlwind of a trip.

A much simpler & better option would be 3 nights in Luzern with time in the historic center and mountain day trips up to Rigi & Pilatus. You then take a direct train from Luzern to Como and a bus or boat to Bellagio. It’s going to be way more convenient and less hectic for a short trip and you’ll still get to enjoy the mountains, a Swiss lake and a beautiful historic city.
1 hour from the airport to Luzern on a direct train, under 3 hours on a direct train to Como and then a lovely boat ride to Bellagio. Thats 2 total train for the whole thing. If you try to do Wengen, for example, it’s going to require around 7 different trains.

Lodging options are going to be very slim at this point, so wherever you go, book ASAP.
