We are trying to figure out how to do a 3 day/night train tour starting at the Zurich airport and include the Glacier Express at least between Chur and Brig. The end destination is Basel. Will someone recommend the train routes, cities, hotels?

When is this planned for? I think you named the cities, Chur, Brig, and I will add Bern. Make sure you get your Glacier Express reservations before you get carried away. 1st or 2nd class?
Take the slow way from Brig to Bern with the regional train via Kandersteg for a route as scenic as the Glacier Express, IMO. Sit on the left side until Frutigen, then switch to the right for views of the Thunersee and the Big 3 of the Berner Oberland.

We are traveling in mid-May 2025 for 2-4 nights. Are trying to determine what is worth the time and money. Should we go to Chur and take the Glacier Express to Zermatt and the next day take the Gornergrat train?
Alternatively, should we just stay in Lucerne and take the Golden Express?
Our arrival is Zurich and departure will be Basel.

Your first idea, (Chur, Brig, Basel) involves you spending a lot of time sitting on trains, plus the expensive Glacier Express seat reservation fee. Your 2nd plan, Luzern, Interlaken (Muerren or Wengen better) to Basel will give you a bit more time to explore on your own, plus no required seat reservations. What is best? Your call.
