2 Days in Zurich

I have two days in Zurich - arrive on a Sunday afternoon and have Monday and Tuesday. Any MUST SEE things?

Yes, the railway station. Go there on Sunday afternoon, and take a train to somewhere more interesting :-)

Zurich is not what most people come to Switzerland for. Its a pretty standard central european city. If you want to have a real Swiss experience I would suggest you go to Luzern in stead.

Unless you are a huge fan of larger European cities, then I agree with the previous suggestions. From Zürich Flughafen the train is a little over an hour to Luzern. Head there for a few days, consider Mt. Pilatus or Mt. Rigi; explore Luzern. A much better Swiss experience IMO.

But if you are stuck in Zurich for 2 days, you can take the S-bahn to Uetliberg for great views of the city.

Take a ride on one of the boats on the Zurichersee.

If history is of interest, learn how a nation of cow farmers morphed into the richest country in Europe at the Swiss National Museum across the street from Zurich HB train station.

If art is your thing, the Kunsthaus Museum has a decent collection of art from the middle ages to the present. Especially interesting is works by lesser known Swiss artists, some of which are frankly nationalistic, like the "The Ruetli Oath".

But yeah, Luzern is the place to be.

Are you going elsewhere in Switzerland afterward? Luzern is only about 45 minutes way by direct trains that run every 30 minutes. You could buy a couple of day passes and go for the day. With a day pass, you can take a boat to Vitznau and ride the Rigibahn to the top of Mt Rigi and return by one of several ways.
