Hello all,
I have a 2 day trip planned for switzerland and flying out from Zurich on the 3rd day. What would be the best place to stay?
I will be travelling with heavy luggage bags, so I thought changing bases may not be a good idea, but please let me know if thats a bad idea.
I also see Zurich hotels are overpriced, so some place from where accesibility is good to airport and other attractions would be good to know.

Two days, including the day you arrive? Two nights? What are you interested in seeing?
Where else will you be in Europe? Where are you coming from and going to? Two days is not much time anywhere and Switzerland has so many options. With “heavy luggage bags” moving around a lot, especially by train, is difficult.
I have 5 nights, in which 1 night I am going to Salzburg. Nights 2-3 I am planning to go to bologna and do Rome and Venice from there (if that is a bad idea for short stay please let me know). Nights 4-5 I plan to do Switzerland, thought I haven't decided on what places to cover yet (please let me know some options). In Switzerland I would like to do most scenic places, thought can't hike because traveling with a toddler
I think you are seriously underestimating how much time it will take to get from one place to another. It will take most of a day just to get from Bologna (which you won't have time to see anyway, with two day trips) to anywhere in Switzerland, leaving you with little more than one day in one place.
Thanks for the suggestion, I thought on it and I think I will have to skip Rome else I will spend all my money only on train travel and little on visiting the places.So maybe I can go from Salzburg to some place in middle of venice and Switzerland main attractions/scenic places; or maybe a place having direct train to Zurich airport and just cover venice in 1 day, leaving us with extra night at Switzerland (3 nights now)

Just so I understand, your plan is the following?
Night 1: Salzburg
Night 2: Bologna - day trip to Venice
Night 3: Bologna - day trip to Rome
Night 4: Swiss city 1
Night 5: Swiss city 2

Thanks for the response. As suggested in the prior post, I do think that I will spend too much time travelling and less time visiting the places. So the revised plan is:
Night 1: Salzburg
Night 2: (Some city closer to switzerland and having direct train to venice) Venice round trip
Night 3: Swiss city 1
Night 4: Swiss city 2
Night 5: Swiss city 3
Could you suggest a good place for Night 2 (I was also thinking to do train rides from Austria instead of Switzerland) and keep venice for the last day.
