1st class ticket for 9 year old child

Hello and thanks in advance for any help here.

We're 5 ppl (4 adults, 1 child, 9 years old) traveling in August from Lugano to Murren in 1st class. I've purchased the 4 adult tickets online but can't figure out how to secure my son's seat in 1st class ahead of time. I saw somewhere I can buy him a day pass at the rail station to travel with us for around 32 Euro but now I can't find where I read that. I'm also unclear if the Junior travel card will allow him into 1st class. Either way, I want to secure his seat in advance to make sure he'll be sitting with us. I've heard 1st class can fill up and that would be a problem if we arrived at the train station the morning of our journey and there wasn't availability for him.

We're flying into Milan and staying on the western shore of Lake Como prior to our trip to Murren. We'll be transferring to Lugano via car the morning of our train departure so going to the train station in advance will not be a possibility. Any help is appreciated!

When you bought the tickets, you would have been offered the option of full price or half price. Half Price is the child fare (6 to 16), you could have bought 4 full fare and 1 half fare.
Unless you bought a supersaver (train-specific) ticket, it was unnecessary to buy in advance. Tickets are the same price if you just buy at the station.

The solution now is to buy a one day child travelcard as Balso suggested.

Sorry, but you heard wrong. There is no "availability". The trains do not have reserved seats, you just get on the train and sit in any empty seat that takes your fancy. You just buy a ticket and that is valid for any train on that route on that day.
I would also say 1st class is unnecessary. 2nd class is perfectly OK.
