If you have a 2nd class Swiss Travel Pass, can you upgrade to 1st class on the Glacier Express train? Do you just need a reservation on the Scenic Rail Journeys? Thanks for the help.

Yes, you can purchase an upgrade at any Swiss ticket office before hand. Just make sure you purchase 1st class seat reservation.

Well , you will be on the train for almost 8 hours if you are doing the full trip. I've done it in 1st class and it is really nice. Seating is larger pitch over a table and 2 across on one side of the aisle and single on the other side. So if there are 2 of you, you could have your own private table.
2nd class is not bad either. Seating 2 across on both sides of the aisle with less pitch than 1st class, but still across a table.
