Hi we are 3 adults and a young 2 year old planning a first time trip to the Alps and Austria in early Sep, need help with recommend on the following itinerary (it's flexible to add / remove days and places based on recommend), Going to b using Trains
we plan to arrive Flight in to Vienna (2 Nights) Then on to Salzburg (3 Nights) on to Innsbruck( 1 night) onto Lucern/Luzern via Zurich -though this would be a longish train ride, we could altogether skip Innsbruck -(3 Nights please recommend day trips from here) we are confused and have hear a lot about murren or gimmerwald (I'm sure I misspelled that) which I understand is the obernland area (we want to spend 3 Nights in this area) and then we either add Zermatt or another base from where we can do one of the glacier express or scenic trains and fly back out of Zurich
We would ideally like to spend 8 days in Switzerland and 7 days in Austria
I appreciate that this itinerary is a bit unstructured any help would be welcome
