10 days geneva venice aix en provence

Hello!

From geneva I got 3 or 4 days to see the Swiss mountains, where should I go by grain and whats the most beautiful hikes do you recommend. Need to go east.

After 3 or 4 days, I want to rent a car pretty far east, so I can take the pretty trains. Where can I rent a car to drive to venice, perhaps thru lichtenstein or skip it, that is close to a train station and not out of the way?

From there, where ever that is, we drive to venice and see stuff on the way, what should we see? I hope to pass near the dolomites to see that, anything else?

Venice day 5 and 6, day 7 Verona and probably milan for sleep, all by car... what is worth seeing otherwise, photographer and girl that has never traveled are going together, seeking beauty and uniqueness and nature and archeology, geology and adventure.

Day 8 drive to marseille and aix, day 9 south of france and drive to geneva to drop off car... fly day 10.

Any and all constructive ideas and input appreciated... trying to decide which trains to take and where to get the car seems the toughest part.

What time of year is your trip? You might try to get a copy of the RS Switzerland guide to look at a map and read about the various scenic train routes.

Note that you wouldn’t be able to use your car in Venice - you’d just have to park it (expensively) in Piazzale Roma or nearby.

You probably don’t want a car in Verona and Milan either. I’d say you can do the entire trip without the costs and headache of driving. I’ve driven twice in Italy when I was traveling to rural areas not served by trains and I can tell you it’s very stressful, and I love to drive.

Sept 1 thru 10, arriving 2nd.
Yeah, don't want to fly so its drive or train for me. I will look into trains, I get nervous with lots of transfers. Plus I think from milan to aix, trains kinda suck, there aren't any fast ones in italy either... so car seems like best option.

I drove once in italy, 10 days from Rome to almalphi to the etruscan tombes and saturna, back to Rome. I agree its bad... turkey was worse... not stupid enough to get a car in istanbul, but bodrum to Ephesus to pumacale to aphrodisias and back to bodrum I did... in 2 days! Also drove in the UK with was the ultimate challenge. Rental car in Rome sucked, tried to charge me for fake dents... hard getting in and out, otherwise didn't seem to bad... almaphi had some tough spots.

I figure this would be easier, get and return car in Switzerland, big loop. Can't return in another country for cheap, so it's car or train for the loop doesn't appear to be both... unless I go plane.

So I wanna see the most, so does the chick traveling with. Think we are committed to
