Swiss Chocolate Hotel Zurich

Has anyone here heard of this hotel?

It is new (built in 2021), modern, and very close to the Hauptbahnhof—-just across the bridge. The prices are very reasonable, at least in early October. A “superior” double room is 168 CHF, without breakfast. I did add the buffet breakfast (a pricy 20 CHF per person), but I thought that best for the start of our long travel day home.

I am hoping the rooms are perfumed with the aroma of chocolate wafting up from the chocolate fountain in the lobby.

bookmarked. Planning on either Switzerland or Turkey for September 2025.

I took a tour of the Hershey factory as part of a school trip when I was 12 years old, and I think that was enough chocolate aroma to last a lifetime.

Suki, what is over the top about the hotel? The photos of the rooms look nice and modern, although apparently they are on the small side.

Isn’t a chocolate theme appropriate for Switzerland?

I stayed there in December 2023. Nice (but small) rooms with a chocolate theme. Great location near the Hauptbahnhof. We walked all over old town Zurich from the hotel. Loved how we could use the chocolate fountain in the lobby. Hotel also had wrapped chocolate squares at the check in desk. The lobby is very small. They held our luggage when we arrived early. All in all, a great reasonably priced hotel. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Thank you for your report, Barbara—-that is encouraging. We have no intention of sampling the “chocolate fountain” in the lobby; this is the very end of our trip and all we need is a reasonably priced hotel with easy access to the airport. And close enough to the Altstadt that we can enjoy a stroll and dinner at our favorite restaurant .

I do not like any chocolate so probably overreacted, apologies.

I have stayed there twice. most recently this past February. the rooms are small (even the larger rooms) but the location is convenient to the Train Station and old town is literally out the door and the funicular up to the University is around the corner. Breakfast is just ok, not worth 20CHF but the convenience of it before leaving for the airport is ok.

it's warm in the summer (the AC is just a fan in the wall, truly) and it was just ok temp wise in February. SMALL elevator.
