Over the past 20 years, we have taken most of our summer vacation trips Europe and have included the village of Saas Fee in the canton Valais as part of our itenerarry. When doing so, we stay at the Hotel Ambiente. Accomodations at the Ambiente provide panorama views of the surrounding moutians and you're serenaded by the mountain stream that runs through the village. The accomodations are comfortable and most rates in the summer include a cable car pass for the mountain cable cars in the area as well as for the buses in the area amking it a hiker's prardise. Rates include a breakfast buffet and guests have the option of half board which provides a 3 course dinner each night. If the Ambiente is not your style, there are also two more hotels that are owned by the same innkeepers, each hotel having its own personality to fit your likes.

There is no train station in Saas Fee. If arriving by train you would need to take the train to either Brig or Visp and then take the Post Bus up the Saas valley. From Brig, it is about a 45 minute ride. Once at the Saas Fee bus terminal you can call the hotel and they will pick you up in one of their electric carts. (The village is a carless village).
