Sunny Days B&B : Interlaken

We stayed at Sunny Days for three nights in mid-May (2014).

The room was comfortable and nicely laid out with the sink outside of the toilet/shower room. The bed was plenty big enough for two folks used to a King sized American bed and was very comfortable with the added bonus of an elevating head section for reading/whatever. The view from the room was great - straight down the Lauterbrunnen valley looking at the Jungfrau. There was the obligatory cable TV (don't actually know if it worked or not :-) on a desk, and a single large armoire.

The back yard has a lovely Koi pond and garden that was the backdrop (out the window) to the Breakfast Buffet and the Breakfast was plentiful and varied. The front has plenty of free parking.

The location was convenient to a selection of restaurants and shops (ranging from 5-10 minute walks distance) along with ATMs and the West bus/train station. And it's an easy walk across the river to Interlaken if you're ok with another handful of minutes.

But the best part is the proprietor - Tanja was an absolute dream. She was helpful, informative, friendly and will even take care of your laundry for a modest fee. She saved me from a nasty red sauce stain so that the Austrians will never know what a slob I was!

My fondest memory of our entire two week trip is sitting on the balcony with a bit of wine, writing some emails home while glancing up every so often to watch the waves of hang gliders coming over the house from the Harder Kulm and noticing a rainbow had formed in the opening of the Lauterbrunnen - just wonderful.
