Greetings! Any recommendations for wonderful lodging in Lugano?
We will be without a car so walking and using public transportation.

I haven't stayed at any of these, but i have them on my list for my trip next year as they are all close to the train station:
Lugano dante
Hotel Federale
Continental Park hotel
They all have very good reviews on booking.com.

Like Carol, I also enjoyed the Hotel International Au Lac on a Rick Steves tour. Great public spaces inside and out. The giant chess set in the garden was fun. Good location.

Agree with the Hotel International Au Lac, great location, stayed on the Rick Steves tour, they have a swimming pool that we utilized in July!

We once stayed at the Holiday Inn in the Paradiso area of Lugano below the city towards the lake.
We won't return to that hotel. Ever.

We enjoyed the Hotel San Carlo in Lugano on our 2017 trip. Quite near the lake promenade.

We were in Lugano 10 years ago, but we stayed in HOSTEL in the middle of town, close to the train station. It was great. We had a private room with private bath, so we did not have to share the dorm room. It was a very nice place. We are seniors, but we have stayed in Hostels in various countries, always nice experiences.

Another vote for Hotel International au lac. It was fun to see it on the Amazing Race episode in Lugano. It sits directly adjacent to the TALL staircase where the participants had to carry wine up the hill. Our room had a cute little balcony that opened out to the stairs.
