Review of Hotel Staubbach in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

Having seen Rick’s videos in the Lauterbrunnen area and reading the travel book we chose to stay in Lauterbrunnen in October this year (2019). It was a great choice. We stayed at the Hotel Staubbach for 6 nights and we can't say enough about it. From the location in the valley to the lovely staff, to the comfortable room everything about this hotel was great. We chose this hotel because of recommendations we read and it's location and both were exceeded by being there. We were met in the lobby by the delightful Mandy and from there we settled into one of our now favorite hotel experiences. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room (#34) was clean and not only had a fantastic view but a balcony from which you could hear the cow bells as they grazed in the valley. The church bells across the street reminded us of the time regularly and listening to the stream was soothing. Breakfast was delightful with plenty of options to prepare you for exploring or hiking. And the view of the valley of 72 waterfalls was amazing.

We strongly recommend staying at Hotel Staubbach.

Couldn't agree with you more. We have stayed there three times and are planning on making it four times next September. We like the small rooms facing down the valley and everything else about the place.

I think staubbach is fine but do not go in the attic.
Ask for another area of hotel.

Dorothy, their website is https://www.staubbach.com/

When the website opens, "Rates" is the 5th button over. The website is in English. There isn't a simple answer because it depends on which type of double room and what time of year you want it. All the answers are there.

What are the dinner options out there , as the hotel does not have a restaurant?

Don’t think Staubbach has dinner but there are 2-3 restaurants very close as well as the coop, and others in Wengen and Mürren.
