We would appreciate recommendation for moderately priced restaurants or cafes in Zurich, Lucerne,Zermatt , Lausanne and Geneva. Heading there in August. Thanks
Luzern: Rathaus Brauerei, north bank of the river looking at the Chapel Bridge. La Bestia, Pizza on Frankenstrasse, side of the train station.
Zermatt: Walliserkanne, on Bahnhofstrasse.
If you want super casual, take and go, I’m a huge fan of the sandwiches from Brezelkönig. You can find them in the train stations.

I’m looking forward to trying Sam’s recommended La Bestia. They also have a location in the Luzern train station, near platform 14.
Lucerne eat lunch at the outdoor rooftop patio of the department store - what is the name, it escapes me? There's an entire food court of selections .
Also, the Coop store close by the department store has a food court.
Both are reasonable, and close around 4:00pm.
Have a great trip.
I think Pat was referring to Globus or Manor.
Check out thefork - they offer discounts of up
to 50% on various restaurants in many cities. You still have to do the research on
the restaurants, and no 5* places will most likely show up, but Swiss restaurants
can be pricey even for regular places.
Thanks Barkinpark, it's the Manor Dept store rooftop cafe!
We really enjoyed Ammos in Lucerne. Excellent food and service.
In Geneva: Restaurant Les Armures
This question is well covered in Steves' guidebook for Switzerland. Check it out at your local library if you cannot afford to buy it.
