Driving from Bremgarten to Chamonix via Gruyeres/Fribourg area first nite. Wondering about bed/breakfast or hotels in area? Any recommendations for restaurants. Is it unwise to travel in Sept and not have a hotel/room reservation? Cost of room we are very flexible if nice view and enjoyable.

We just stayed last month in Bulle nr Gruyeres at an accor hotel Ibis.
Just off main freeway, convenient and clean about 125.00 usd for 2 persons. Across the street we were entertained by the goats of a farmer.
A nice stay.
