Murren Hotel Blumenthal

Just received our hotel list for My Way Alpine Europe in late June. Staying at the Hotel Blumenthal in Murren. Excited to stay in Murren, but do not recall much mention of this hotel. If you stayed there recently, any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

No "recent" memories to report. I'm just smiling at remembering our time there 25 yrs ago! :D What a fun & beautiful bit of the world, and back then, at least, the hotel was quite nice.

And I'd love to here your review after you visit as Murren/Jungfrau/Lauterbrunnen Valley are on our list to return to in the next couple of years. My wife was actually considering a large print from the local art festival which featured a long shot of the valley since she still cherishes the views.

This time we'll remember to check the weather at the top of the Schilthorn before buying a one way ticket to the top for a pleasant hike down. Oops!

Tom:
I hope to post an overview of the My Way Alpine Europe tour in the future. We are going late June / early July.

Haven't stayed there, but I looked on Booking.com and their reviews have been very good. Pictures look like a basic 3 star hotel. Nothing fancy, but nothing bad. Ten minutes from the train station. Coop grocery across the street where you can pick up stuff for a picnic lunch for a hike. Enjoy.

Thanks for the update.; appreciate it! Any chance you can give a brief report on the conditions there; weather (always changing!), trails, dining and wildflowers? Hope you had a great visit.
Thanks again,

I spent 4 nights there in 2019. Very clean and fresh rooms. I hope you get a balcony room. Mine was very nice. The restaurant there was very good but a bit expensive as are most restaurants now in Switzerland. The server for dinner was rude and curt but he was worth putting up with for the good food and the nice ambiance. I have been to Murren 5 times and will go again on every European trip I take. There are endless beautiful places to see in the area and the Lauterbrunnen valley. I usually spend 6-7 days in that area on every trip and never get tired of the area. Have fun!!

Hello, I just came back from the Best of Switzerland tour and we stayed there for 2 nights. I had stayed at Hotel Silberhorn 5 nights prior to the start of the tour and thank goodness we did. The hotel is very lovely and cutely decorated. There is Coop (grocery store) literally across the street. There is no A/C but probably not needed. The breakfast is pretty basic mostly cold items. They had hard boiled eggs. The only negative I have of the hotel is that it is not convenient to the other mountains like Jungfraujoch or Grindelwald-First. You do have easy access to Shilthorn (Piz Gloria- the James Bond movie location) and Gimmelwald. It is a beautiful area.,

Disney Freak (you and my adult daughter) and Barbara:
Thank you so much for your insight; appreciate it!
Any comments on weather/ wildflowers? I know they have had a lot rain, which is also in the forecast when we are there in a couple of weeks.
Thanks again, really looking forward to our trip.

The wildflowers were great near Mürren last week. If they are past their prime when you get there, just go to a higher elevation, where some of the trails have just opened.
