Does anyone have a rec. for an old town hotel in Luzern, Switz, that includes breakfast? That makes the mornings so much easier! Thank you
I think this would be considered old town or at least near. We liked this hotel, friendly employees and great breakfast.
Unless you are adverse to having breakfast out, I would focus probably more on a hotel you like. You can always find something for breakfast in old town.
Hotel des Alpes was very nice and conveniently located when we stayed a few years ago (2017). I have no recent information.
I agree the Hotel des Alpes is excellent, good breakfast and in the heart of Lucerne.
Was the des Alpes breakfast included in the room rate, or was it extra? I seem to recall that it was extra, and expensive enough to send us to getting pastries the day before at a store or bakery (one at the rail station station).
I have stayed at the Ameron Luzern Hotel Flora twice. Their breakfast was included and very nice. Great location. One block to the Chapel bridge and two blocks from the train station.
Just cross the Chapel Bridge and you are in old town.
We just left the Hotel des Alpes, and breakfast was available for purchase. The great breakfast buffet we had a few years ago is no longer. Coffee at the hotel was cheaper than Starbucks. The breakfast was good, but not large portions.
I don't know when the Coop or Menora Dept stores open, if it's early enough for breakfast . These stores did offer good options for lunch.
On Saturday, there was a pleasant farmers market that opened early, so we bought bread, cheese, yogurt , and fruit which was wonderful for breakfast that day.
Have a great trip!
Thank you everyone, this was super helpful!!
