We, (2 adults), will be in Lucerne for two night in mid September of 2023. Looking for hotel recommendations close to the Old Town and the train station. Prefer breakfast included. Not looking for luxury but good quality and walking distance to sights.
Hotel Continental Park
Hotel Des Alpes
Both within walking distance to the train station. Both breakfast offerings were not included and are pricey. I went to Heini for a pastry and coffee.
Hotel Des Alpes offered breakfast before pandemic, but not when we stayed there in 2021. We went to Starbucks and bought coffee and breakfast sandwiches.
Location very convenient to train station.
Note that Hotel des Alpes is across the river from the train station, in the Old Town. As we were in Luzern for only one night, we chose to stay closer to the train station to avoid shlepping our luggage across the bridge. Hotel Flora is very close and met our needs perfectly. We did not get breakfast—it was very expensive.
Hotel Weisses Kreuz is a five minute walk to the railway station and right in the historic heart of Luzern. Served a great breakfast and also offers discounts for the Italian and Chinese restaurants that are in the same building.
We stayed at the Hotel Flora in May. Walking distance to everything.

I have stayed at the Hotel Alpha several times. It is a short walk from the train station and convenient in my opinion. Good breakfast. Very comfortable and affordable.
I have also stayed at the Hotel Flora. Twice. A few minutes walk from the train station and a few minutes walk, over the Chapel Bridge, to Old Town.
