We are looking to find a very nice and reasonably priced hotel nearest the Geneva Swit. Airport..please help. Or, should we stay some miles away to see the city, yet close enough for the departure flight the following day?

Local trains from Geneve main station to Geneve airport station take only 8 minutes and start operating around 5 a.m. You can buy tickets there in the station.

For what it's worth, I booked the Hotel Astoria for an overnight stay before flying out of Geneva in July. It's near the train station. Mixed reviews, but price was reasonable.
