Hotel or AirBnB Recommendations in the Lugano area

If you don't mind being about 8km from the Villa Sassa, you might consider Melide. The rooms at the Hotel Riviera, in Melide, where I stayed the first time I visited the area, are a little less expensive than Villa Sassa. They have nearby parking for guests, which I recall was a short distance away across the street.

The property sits immediately on the water and if you get a lake side room on an upper floor, the views from your room and balcony are never-to-be-forgotten dreamy. The tables for the breakfast room are on the deck that is directly on the lake, with the same fabulous views. You may never make it to your reunion!

I have always wanted to spend some time at Elvizia al Lago, a tiny boutique hotel on the lake in Castagnola, just outside Lugano. It is on the pedestrian path going toward Gandria, so you would have to park somewhere nearby, not at the hotel, but I am sure they can arrange that.

Go to Google Maps and center the map on where you want to stay. Hit the Hotel bar at the top and little icons will pop up showing all of the available accommodations.

Click on the icon and you'll pull the property up on the screen. It's a good way to scout out hotels and B&B's.
