Hotel Berghaus vs Hotel Alpenruhe in Wengen

Hi - we stayed at the Hotel Alpenruhe last September. It is a nice hotel with a great breakfast and dinner. Our room was very comfortable.

When making your decision, you may want to consider their distances from the train station. Some hotels will offer a pick up service, but you may be rolling your own luggage.

Both are equidistant it seems though alpenrhue is a bit uphill.

Both are offering pick up service though Berghaus is only offering till 630 pm in evening.

Berghaus is offering the JTP for 3 days, so might work out slightly better but it is only for 3 days.

I must admit to having a soft spot for the Berghaus. I sometimes have lunch there on Sunday in Summer. This is an old fashioned family run business, with a very loyal clientele. There are guests there every summer that have been going there for decades. It is off the main street, so a bit quieter, and has a good view.

Do expect a warm friendly atmosphere. Do not expect the latest in hotel furniture design. :-)
