Leaving for The Best of Switzerland. Rick lists hairdryer on his checklist. Does this imply hairdryers are NOT provided in each hotel?
Thanks for the response.

If you have your tour hotel list you can check each one for amenities offered. There are very few hotels these days that don't have a hairdryer in the room or one you can borrow from the hotel desk. If you bring your own make sure it is dual voltage and you have the proper plug adapter.
We just got back. It was our 4th RS tour, and so far our favorite out of 4 great tours! It's an amazing tour. There have been hairdryers in every hotel we've stayed at on all 4 tours. And definitely at every hotel on The Best of Switzerland! Prepare for the all that you are about to see! What a gorgeous country, and the tour really provided lots of experiencees you just wouldn't see on your own because they squeeze in a lot and organize adventures that you don't necessarily expect! Have fun!
PS. We had very warm weather everywhere including the Alps, except in Lugano where one would expect warm weather...cool and rained 2" in one day. Plus in the alps the weather can certainly bring a lot of unexpected weather changes. We returned to the Alps after the tour; was in Wengen/Murren as of two days ago, it was stunning weather! But you never know. It could change quickly. Layers! It was a hard tour to pack for. We overpacked. Don't do that!
There’s rarely been a hotel we’ve stayed at on a RS tour (13) that did not provide a hair dryer and then we went to the front desk for one. As already mentioned you can go online and check each hotel’s amenities.
I've been traveling for decades and stayed in a lot of hotels, and I have never, ever had a hotel not provide a hair dryer. For that matter, I've never had an apartment not provide one either.
Actually, I take that back. There was one hotel outside of Chicago that did not have them for some strange reason. I forget what it was now. It was a strange hotel anyway, so definitely an anomaly.
Most Swiss hotels provide hair dryers. If it is important to you, bringing a small travel dryer is a safe option.
In a lot of German hotels I've been in, they provided a hair dryer, and there was no receptacle. It was hard wired into the wall.
At a Gästehaus in Berchtesgaden, they provided a plug-in hair dryer. It was a dual voltage, 230V/115V, dryer with a rotary switch to change voltages. And the tool to rotate the switch was still on the cord, - in case you wanted to steal it and take it home to the USA, I guess.
By the way, a hair dryer in German (which is spoken in large parts of Switzerland) is a Fön (pronounced almost like phone, in English). You might see that if you are checking their amenities.
