My wife and I wanted one last stay in rural Switzerland before flying home. We've stayed in downtown Zurich or at the airport on previous trips, but just didn't enjoy it. The farmhouse is on a hill above a small hamlet called Birmenstorf about 25 mins from the Zurich airport. Super easy freeway access and about a 10 minute walk into the town. We happened to spend two days there and were greeted by cows in a pasture right outside our window, went on a walk in the forest to a really nice restaurant in Baldegg and even walked down through orchards and a nearby vineyard - just the perfect way to get one last bit of Switzerland! The price was incredibly reasonable by Swiss standards as well!
It's essentially an airB&B run by a wonderful couple (Sabine and Denis). The house is Sabine's ancestral farmhouse, built in the early 1800s but fully restored a few years ago. They have two private rooms with bath that share a private living room/kitchen dedicated to the B&B part of the farmhouse. We were just two people, but I could see it would be awesome for a family. We opted for breakfast as well - Sabine supplied a wonderful vegetarian breakfast (we're not vegetarians ourselves, but it was a nice change from meat and cheese!). Both of them are fluent in English (they recently spent a year in the US) so conversation was very easy.
We happened to have a car this trip, but they told us that there are busses from town to two nearby train stations with direct access into Zurich - one station even has a train that goes directly to the Zurich airport.
We've stayed in a lot of B&Bs in Switzerland and really loved this one - we're definitely going back the next time we're flying out of Zurich!
