The Belleview was bought and renovated and is now a warm, classy boutique hotel and gourmet restaurant named Drei Berge Hotel … with the same amazing views and large windows! Someone with creative and bold flair designed the interior. It’s stunning! The staff is exceptional- everything you would want in a 5 star hotel - and extremely friendly and fun. The staff has perfection as their goal in cleanliness. The food is so good and the menu so varied, that we chose to eat here every night of our 5 night stay. It’s been glorious. Kudos to the new owner, chef and staff.

That is good to know. Hotel Bellevue’s restaurant has been our favorite place for dinner for the 20 years we have been visiting Mürren.

Carrie, where are you seeing mixed reviews?
The recent ones on booking.com ( since the change) are uniformly very high. I see some “meh” comments on tripadvisor, but complaining about scratchy towels and toilet paper just seems to reflect the person’s lack of familiarity with Swiss linens and paper. Or maybe the towels are dried in the sun for eco reasons. 😊
It will be interesting to see if the hotel responds to the complaint about no balcony, though. That would bother me too, but the person just misunderstood the room details.

I didn’t hear construction noise. We heard trees being sawed down, but that didn’t bother us at all. I figure that happens all the time. It was very quiet.
