Basil Hotel Suggestions

We will be beginning our month long European adventure with a river cruise which leaves from basil, and we are looking for hotel suggestions in or around the area.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I assume you mean "Basel". Basil is a herb!
There lots of hotels, in all price ranges. Unless I know your preferences, I would not like to suggest one.
If you go to the official city website here: https://www.basel.com/en and scroll down, you can search for accommodation. This lists all the hotels in and surrounding the city, and links you direct (no middle-men).
Be aware, Basel is not cheap. Nothing under CHF 100 per night in the city, more likely CHF 150 to 200, more if you hit a week when a major trade fair is on.

Try Hotel Stuecki. I stayed there twice, and loved it. Modern and clean, free coffee/tea/juices all day, and fresh fruit. Breakfast is extra. Next door to a mall with grocery store, and you get the free transit pass for the city.

BTW, All hotels in Basel city give you a free transport pass for the duration of your stay (its the law), it covers Basel city, and suburbs including out to the airport. Details here: https://www.basel.com/en/Getting-there-exploring-the-City/Exploring-the-City/Mobility-Ticket
Hotel Stücki is a modern hotel on top of the shopping centre of the same name, near the docks but not in the city centre. Regular trams (as anywhere in Basel) every 7½ minutes during the day into the city centre.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel au Violon (www.au-violon.com). it was centrally located, great view from our room and service was great. At the time, breakfast was included. It was located in an upper area of the town, but there was an elevator at street level, tucked away so ask for specifics.
