Will be in Basel 12/11 and 12.12 to enjoy its Christmas market before boarding a river cruise to sail along the Rhein.
Looking for suggestions for the restaurants for lunch or dinner.

We absolutely loved https://www.bohemia.ch/. Reservations required and can be done online. We had brunch on a Sunday. We also ate at a delightful Italian restaurant a bit out of the center, https://pizzeria-laperla.ch/. Their strength is, IMO, their pizza and it is very good.

We stayed in Basel last year, and enjoyed dinners at Zum Branden Mutz (address at Barfüsserplatz 10) - enormous schnitzel and other Swiss traditional dishes with a big beer selection, plus various fun, decorated bears all around the restaurant), and at Cardamom (just down the street, at Barfüsserplatz 17). It’s an excellent Indian restaurant, for something different.

personally I take strolls through Christmas Markets as an official invitation to graze. Many favourites, and pretty much no need for a sit down restaurant.
Christmas Markets are a wonderful thing!
