B&B/Hotel Recommendations for Zurich

We will be in Zurich in May 2019 for a couple of nights before flying back to the US. Would like a nice B&B or hotel recommendation for area of the city close to main sights.

Will you be visiting Luzern during your trip? If not, I'd recommend staying in Luzern instead of Zurich. Luzern is an hour or so by train from Zurich. Its charming and on a lake and river and in the midst of the mountains. I stayed at Drei Koenig in Luzern, but that is an inn and more modest, though breakfast and staff are phenomonal. I

I can tell you where not to stay! I had Ricks Switzerland book and relied on his suggestion of Hotel Bristol. We wanted to be within easy walking distance from the train station. Since we were going to be there in May, I didn't think the lack of A.C. was going to be an issue. It WAS!!!!! There was no air conditioning at all in the hotel. The days were unusually warm, and the whole place stuffy and close--- from the breakfast room to our room on the 4th floor.
The room--- very spartan and cold feeling. There was a sorry excuse for a fan---- a table fan that had one speed and totally inadequate to provide any relief from the heat. The towels were thin and short. The bed was very low to the floor which made nighttime bathroom trips for our old knees challenging. Since we had to open the window for air and were in the front of the hotel on a busy street, we heard every motorbike, every car engine, every loud conversation from people on a balcony below us. There was not a lot of sleeping!!
The breakfast-- we were spoiled in previous hotels on our trip. How comical to go to breakfast here and see canned fruit cocktail as a choice.
There was another hotel on Ricks recommended list that was just down the street , Hotel Arlette, with A.C. that I wished we had selected instead.
We did take a day trip to Lucerne and thought that we should have stayed in that charming place and taken the train back to Zurich for our flight home. It is an easy 1 hour trip with lots of trains you g back and forth.

Hotel budget is in the 200-225 Euros per night range unless someone has a suggestion for a nice less expensive B&B or hotel.

We just returned from two weeks in Switzerland. Our last day was in Zurich and we stayed at the Hotel Leoneck. It's a short walk or tram ride to the hotel from the train station. Best yet, it literally is across the street from the tram that goes to the airport (#10). It was 189CHF for the night. Nice hotel. Small room but typical of Europe. Friendly staff. Had free breakfast buffet but we left for the hotel early in the AM so can't say how good it was. The day we had in Zurich we easily walked around the old town area for half the day. If I was in Zurich again, I would stay there.
