Visby, Gotland - Restaurants

Good day all,

Any recommendations on restaurants in Visby, Gotland. We are staying in Visby but will have a rental for the trip.

Thanks

Amy

A rental what? Where are you staying and when are you visiting?

(It's also much easier to give advice about your trip if post the general itinerary.)

Hi Badger,

17-20 July 25. We will be staying in Visby.

We also plan on going to Faro for the day, as well when visiting Gotland. Would you recommend a day trip to Faro?

Thanks, Amy

We have breakfast included in our BnN.

I was looking at Gamla Masters and Hop Shed Brew Pub.

Yes, you mentioned Visby. My question was about where in Visby, and I'd might be able to recommend some restaurants close to where you are staying. But a few general suggestions are:

  • Creperiet on Hästgatan.
  • Frimis well known for their grilled lamb, but they have other things on the menu as well.
  • Glassmagasinet in the harbour. Ice cream and almost only ice cream, but do not miss it (unless you hate ice cream).
  • Joda bar & kök
  • St Hans café, good for a fika or lighter lunch
  • Trossen, a good mid range restaurant with nice outdoor seating next to the harbour.
  • Visby Hof used to be very good, but I haven't been there in many years so I don't know if they still are.

Gamla Masters usually gets good reviews. I can't comment on Hop Shed Brew Pub, other than the fact that it's pretty far away, so you might need a taxi there and back.

Fårö is nice and worth a visit, but if you only have three nights my recommendation is to stay in Visby. There is so much to see there.
