Hi, when I am in Sweden in the latter part of August, I do not wish to rent a car, but I would like to get out in the countryside.
How can I see more of, for example, Dalarna, or Gotland?
Do they offer van tours of the region?

What do you want to see? What regions? And who are "they"?
You can see a lot using buses and trains, but on Gotland you can also book a tour from Taxi Gotland, https://www.taxigotland.se/rundturer-37070069

They, meaning tour companies that would offer van tours of Dalarna, not only of the towns, but of a dalahäst workshop, of Lake Siljan, Carl Larsson's home, the Zorn Museum, etc.

I have not heard of any, and I don't know what you're hoping to get out of it. Carl Larsson's home and the Zorn museum are easy to visit on your own, so is getting to Nusnäs where the dala horses are made. Best way to see Siljan is in my opinion by boat, there are few boats that operate on the lake.
