We will be traveling to Sweden this July. We are debating on whether to rent a car in Stockholm and drive to Malmo and back or take a train. I tried to look for train schedules but rail-Europe but the schedule isn't out yet.
So anyone have an idea on price and schedule? We have three days to do some family ancestry near Malmo and Ahua.

Train goes every hour in the morning then every two hours. It takes 4 hours 26 minutes. You will find details on Deutsche Bahn website. If you want to know the price you will have to use Swedish rail website but I am afraid it's too early. My educated guess is that the train is expensive and renting a car even more.
Use this to look at train schedules: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?country=USA, not Rail Europe. Figure train times are unlikely to change much after the June 11-12 European schedule adjustment. Check back in a few months.
You can find schedules and prices and buy tickets on the Swedish Railways site, www.sj.se.
Tickets for July aren't out yet, but looking at ticjets for other dates, i find prices as low as 195 Swedish Crowns, but you have to buy tickets a little time in advance and be prepared to travel at odd hours to get tickets that cheap.
Any idea when the summer schedule and prices come out?
