We just received an email about our train #538 on May 31 now leaving from Malmo C at 13:07. Our ticket is good for the Oresund train to Malm C. I know nothing about this train. Do we need seats? Is there a schedule and how long does it take? Thanks
I think you got an offer to rebook to a another train for free, 8:19, 14:19 and 15:19 are still scheduled from Copenhagen.
Öresundståg depart every 15 mins. You can't get a reserved seat for such a short journey. The tickets SJ sells now includes the 11:59 departure towards Helsingborg, arrives in Malmö 12:40 so that is the recommended option. 11:44 towards Karlskrona is another option, it's in Malmö 12:25. (If everything works fine 12:14 arrives 12:55 which is enough for a change, but a delay would make it fail).
Thank you. It says our ticket to Malmo is covered. Can we take any morning train especially to give us a little more time to make the connection in Malmo?
I don't think there is any limit on which train you take.
Tickets are for a route. So just take any train from Copenhagen to Malmoe that gets you there in time for your train to Stockholm. And the schedule you can find on the usual sites. You should be able to find the new schedule on the site you booked the ticket from for example. Just enter Copenhagen - Stockholm, and you will see the trains pop up.
The Oresund train is a local commuter train network that connects Copenhagen with Southern Sweden over the Oresund bridge (that bridge basically turned Malmoe in to a suburb of Copenhagen...) . These trains do not require reservations, and they run at least every 20 minutes.
