Time Needed From Bergen to Stockholm

We are planning to take a train from Bergen (leaving at 8am) to Oslo (expected time 7.5 hours) then a plane to Stockholm. How much time will it take to get to the Oslo airport & comfortably be able to take a flight to Stockholm?
Thanks in advance for your answers, Debbie

That's quite a scenic train between Bergen and Oslo--especially toward the eastern part of the trip, but I want to be sure you're aware it is possible to fly straight from Bergen to Stockholm. On the random date I looked at, there were flights operated by Finnair and SAS.

To clarify: we will be flying to Bergen from the USA (it appears to be cheaper), take the train to Oslo & then fly to Stockholm. We would like to take the scenic train trip & fly to Stockholm on the same day without having to spend a night in Oslo. We just need to know how much time is needed to get to the Oslo airport & get on a plane to Stockholm.

Okay, I'd like to help you. But you have me at a loss. So, you're arriving in Bergen, taking the somewhat scenic train to Oslo just to go to the airport for a flight to Stockholm? You have no interest in doing the train to Voss to the scenic bus to Gudvangen to the scenic ferry to Flåm to scenic train to Myrdal to train to Oslo, aka Norway in the Nutshell?

If you're just taking the Bergenbahn to Oslo, you only need about 10 minutes to transfer to the train to the airport. Generally the airport Express train takes 19 minutes, the regular, cheaper train takes maybe 24 minutes. Trains to the airport from Oslo station depart about every 10 minutes.

I wouldn't book a flight before 7pm. The official connection (which you can book as one through ticket) arrives at Oslo Airport at 1547. However you need to allow time for any delays on either sector.

As it is today that connecting Oslo S to Airport train was 13 minutes late due to an earlier line incident. That train and later departures into the evening peak is also marked as 'usually crowded'- the best chance of seats being in the front 5 (of 10) cars. So something else to consider.
But of course the line incident could have been more serious.

Maybe think of using the 0621 train from Bergen, connection arriving at 1347 instead.

It's risky to self connect between a long train trip and a flight. One idea is too book the last flight of the day with a SAS flex-ticket. They can be rebooked without paying any fee or fare difference to another flight the same day in their app, but only if some conditions regarding number of seats left on the new flight is fulfilled. Probably not a good idea for major travel days like Fridays and Sundays.
