Switzerland or Scandinavia to visit in May?

hi there! currently stuck in choosing the best option. as we've never been to them before, any insights would be much appreciated!

we're travelling mid-end May with our 1 year old. mainly looking at/for attractions that both us and our 1 year old can enjoy, we love food! some light/cheap shopping and markets if there are any?

these would be our option:
1. Switzerland
(arrive in Zurich - might include stay in Milan and/or 1 or 2 cities in Switzerland which we have not decided yet)

  1. Stockholm & Copenhagen (might do a day trip from Copenhagen to Malmo and/or Lund or include a stay in Hamburg. not sure if there's any nice option for a day trip from Stockholm?)

which option would you recommend us to choose? we might be going for 13-15 days.
as mentioned, we've never been to these places before so would really appreciate any insights/opinions/recommendations.

thank you!

Both options have their own charm, but for a family with a 1 - year - old, I'd lean towards Switzerland.
Switzerland:
Attractions for all ages: The Swiss Alps offer breathtaking scenery. You can take a slow - paced cable car ride, like the one in Grindelwald, to enjoy the mountains. Lakes like Lake Geneva or Lake Lucerne are great for a stroll with a stroller. The Zürich Zoo has a wide variety of animals and is very family - friendly.
Food: Switzerland is famous for its cheese, chocolate, and fondue. There are countless small cafes and restaurants where you can sample local delicacies.
Shopping and markets: In cities like Zurich, Bern, or Lucerne, you can find local markets selling everything from fresh produce to handicrafts. There are also nice shopping streets with a range of prices.

Stockholm & Copenhagen:
While both cities are beautiful, traveling with a 1 - year - old might be a bit more challenging. The weather in mid - end May can still be a bit unpredictable, with cooler temperatures and possible rain.
The day trips you mentioned require some planning and transportation arrangements, which can be a bit tricky with a young child.
For your 13 - 15 - day trip, you could spend a few days in Milan, then head to Switzerland. Explore Zurich, Lucerne, and maybe Interlaken. This way, you can enjoy a mix of Italian charm and Swiss beauty, all while keeping your little one in mind.
