Sweeden stockholm hotel

We will be in stockholm for three days following a cruise. We would like to stay at a hotel that would be close to public transportation or not to far for us to get around town. Any suggestions?

Thank You

Stockholm's public transportation is pretty extensive, so there are many hotels with good access to public transportation. For example, I recently booked a stay at the Hellstens Malmgard, which is right around the corner from the Zinkensdamm Metro station. But that's hardly your only option.

Can you tell us a little more about what you're looking for? For example, do you want to stay in a luxury hotel, a budget hotel, an older building with character, a modern building with good amenities? How much are you looking to spend per night?

One thing I noticed in researching Stockholm hotels that I've never encountered much in other cities: In many budget hotels, the cheaper rooms have no windows. I find it disorienting to sleep in a room without a window, so I avoided those. But if you're looking to save money, think about whether a windowless room is something you'd consider.

Thanks for the reply. We are six adults, my family and my parents. I would hate to stay in a room without a window, oh my gosh.
We do like to get a feel of the city we are staying in, when we travel. We are only there for three days. We would spend $2oo canadian, more or less, a room per night.

Thank you

Here are some places that appealed to me when I was researching hotels for myself. They're all close to public transportation, and I think they're all within your price range, or at least close to it. I've never been to any of them, so take them as suggestions, not recommendations:

Here is Hellstens Malmgard, where I'm staying: http://hellstensmalmgard.se/en/Hellstens_Malmgard
Here are two of its sister hotels, Hotel Hellsten and Rex Hotel: http://hellsten.se/en/Hotel_Hellsten http://rexhotel.se/en/Rex_hotel
All three of those offer a discount for staying three or more nights, which could be great for you. Note that their fourth sister hotel, Rex Petit, is one of those hotels I was talking about with the windowless rooms.

Here is a smaller bed-and-breakfast type hotel: http://hotelhornsgatan.se/?q=en

All of the above are located in residential neighborhoods, either to the north or the south of the city center. Here is one in the "old town," where some (but not all) of the "sights" are: http://castle-house-inn.stockholmhotelz.com/en/

This information is so very helpful, we will start looking into it.

Do you have any info on Copenhagen Hotels?

We will be there three days before cruising.

Not really. I settled on the Cabinn City (https://www.cabinn.com/en/hotel/cabinn-city-hotel), which works well for me as a solo traveler. But for your larger group, you might find better options elsewhere.

It would probably be good for you to do some research on your own (either with a guidebook or two or with Google Maps and other online sources) to familiarize yourself with the layout of each city. Once you have a general sense of what's where, it helps narrow down the choice of hotels.

Loved this: http://htlhotels.com/

One of their Stockholm hotel opened in October 2016 and I was there in November...was super! :)
New, clean, affordable, 5 min walk from train station/subway, near shopping/restaurant, hooks all over room to put stuff, USB pulg near bed, smart tv you can mirror your phone to, etc. Smallish room but I don't mind.
Cant wait to go back.
