I have never been to Sweden, but I may go next year. Does Sweden still use cash or are they going all plastic like some other places?
99% of everything is paid with a card over here in Sweden, many places now have signs that says we don't accept cash.
The only time I paid with cash in Sweden was at a farmers market, but they still accepted card too.
Make sure your card has a pin or can tap.
Cash is still used, but Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted.
For farmers markets, flea markets and similar places, cash is often useful.
The local expert Badger answered already. Just want to add that as a tourist I was able to pay with card at every occasion.
When using a CC do they give you receipts to track purchases? This
I visited Sweden/Denmark/Norway in May/June and never once touched cash or my physical credit card, touchless/tap and pay was everywhere. I used my Apple Card and had zero problems anywhere.
Speaking about Europe in general, though I've spent six weeks in Sweden over the last two summers, I've always been able to get a credit card receipt except when I tapped as I boarded public transportation. Sometimes I needed to ask for the receipt; I think that happened most often in small supermarkets, where my purchases were often quite small. Since English is incredibly widely spoken in Sweden, it's unlikely you'll have any problem getting the person accepting you payment to understand you want a receipt.
You can often(always?) get a receipt online when you've paid public transport with a simple tap, for Stockholm/SL here: https://sl.se/en/in-english/fares--tickets/contactless-pay-as-you-go/your-journeys-with-contactless-pay-as-you-go/
Payment is often done the night after you travel, receipts likely become available at the same time.

Usually, although for "tap and pay" on buses and similar it might be a bit harder to get the receipt.
