We are staying 5 nights in Stockholm, and 3 nights in Oslo. We have a free day and night in between. Thinking of going down to Goteburg and staying overnight and then going on to Oslo. Is the train or bus best from Stockholm to Goteburg? And any recommendations for reasonable accomodation downtown? Thanks

The train takes about 3 hours, and the bus takes about 7. If you were booking at the last minute, the bus would be much cheaper. But if your trip is still several months away, and if you're willing to commit to a specific travel time in advance, the train wins on price too: Advance purchase fares can be as low as 195 kr, or about $22 at the current exchange rate.
