We are doing a Baltic cruise which starts in Stockholm. We haven't had time to research and would appreciate some good information regarding a hotel for 1 or 2 nights. Of course a safe, clean , reasonably priced room in a convenient location. I will read some of the previous articles, but with short notice , reaching out to those of you who have had a pleasant stay, and can quickly advise. We will attempt a hop on hop off bus if it exists there. Your suggestions will be much appreciated. This is a last minute opportunity and will make the most of the 2 days in Stockholm before embarking on an Azamara ship with stops to Estonia, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Aalborg, and Oslo . Thank You
I really like The Lady Hamilton hotel in Gamla Stan. It is a small hotel with great service. They have a very nice breakfast with a good selection of both hot and cold dishes. The rooms are small but the beds are very comfortable. Great location in the Old Town and it has a sauna and soaking tub that you can reserve at no cost for private use. Have stayed there at least 4 or 5 times and look forward to another visit this winter. Enjoy your trip!
Look at Scandic Hasselbacken on Djurgarden. It is walking distance to the museums such as Vasa and Skansen. Ferry nearby to go across to Gamla Stan. Generous breakfast included.
Thanks Cathy and Suki. I will research both of these hotels and decide between the two.
We stayed in the First Hotel Reisen that is very close to the Royal Palace and in to old town.
Don't miss the Vasa Museum, you take a ferry there from the old city.
Loved Stockholm.
