Stockholm in April - Gamla Stan and Vasa Museum

We'll be arriving by ship midday (at Stadsgarden) and would love to see Gamla Stan and Vasa Museum. Any suggestions on how best to take in these two sights in one afternoon would be most appreciated. Is the hop on hop off boat a good option? Reviews for the Stromma boats are mixed. Is there a ferry we might use? Thanks for any help you can provide.

It looks li,e Stadsgarden is near Gamla Stan. Most cruise ships are docket oitside of the xity so you are lucky. We stayed on Djurgarden (island) where the VASA Museum is located and could take a small ferry over to an area near Gamla Stan. We also walked between Djurgarden and Gamla Stan. Go to the Vasamuseet website for information on transportation there.

From Stadsgården, you can just walk down a bit to catch the ferry at the Slussen quay to Djurgården. The schedule is here:

You will walk along the water and cross the bridge over the lock ("slussen") to the quay (Stockholm Slussen Kajen) and the ferry will be on your right after you cross over the lock. The ferry quay is actually on Gamla Stan. The ferry will drop you off on Djurgården near Gröna Lund. When you get off, head left along the water to get to the Vasa Museum.
