We will be visiting Stockholm for a very short time while cruising Northern Europe. We will arrive in Stockholm at 8:00 a.m., departing at 2:00 p.m. that same day. Would appreciate any advice on to how best spend our limited time in Stockholm. Thanks in advance.
Not much time, but it should be enough for visiting one important museum such as Vasa Museum (opens at 8.30 a.m.) and walking around the centre.
If you arrive by air, the Arlanda Express will take you to Central Station. From there try to get to Gamla Stan. Gamla Stan is Stockholm's old town and is made up of cobble stoned streets and picturesque alley ways. Gamla Stan also backs up to the Royal Palace. Good places to eat and water all around you. Your cruise ship may even depart close by depending on what harbor you use so it may end up being convenient.
Consider the Nordic Museum near the Vasa Museum and a boat sightseeing trip if you can fit such in.
