How much time do most people spend at the Vasa or Nobel museum?
We (6adults) were at the Vasa three weeks ago. I had read before hand that allowing ninety minutes was sufficient for most visitors. We watched the 20 minute film which gave interesting background and then wandered. I was done in 45 minutes total (including film). Others in my group were over sixty minutes. It all depends on your level of interest. We did not go into the Nobel Museum.
Thank you, Susan.
I went to the Vasa Museum 2019.
I remember it being very attractive, interesting and large.
I think it is up to you how much time you want to give it. A visit could be as short as 20 minutes or as long as two hours.
I went back and looked at my pictures.
The museum is kept dark because light might cause injury to the vessel. I think I remember having to get acclimated to the dark coming in from outside. I was on a. shore excursion and one woman had to leave the museum and go back outside because she was so bothered by the darkness.
I beieve there is a really nice gift shop and I remember a nice cafeteria.
I’d allow 2 hours for the Vasa. It is a great museum (I’ve been there at least half a dozen times). Make sure to watch the film that shows how they raised the Vasa in the 1960s; I think it is fascinating. When you arrive, check the time for the next guided tour in English. They run pretty frequently during the summer and run about 30 minutes and are worth your time. After that, wander around the rest of the museum to see the exhibits.
I spent less time in the Nobel Museum but this will largely depend on your interest. I probably spent about an hour there.
It depends a lot on how interested you are and how close you want to look at the exhibitions. The Vasa museum is a great museum and you can spend two hours there without a problem. Maybe you will be happy with two hours, or maybe you'll want to spend another hour there.
