Stockholm hotels

Looking for recommendations on a well located, quiet hotel in Stockholm. Would you recommend staying in Gamla Stan? Also does anyone have experience with the Story Hotel Riddargatan? I believe it is a Hyatt hotel.
Thx, Jim S.

We liked staying on Strandvagen at the Hotel Diplomat which was a great location. It was rather expensive though. Next door was Hotel Esplanade by Best Western which looked nice and would be less expensive.

I am not familiar with Story Hotel Riddargatan, but the Ostermalm area is nice. The Clarion Collection Hotel Wellington is also in that area.

If you want a Hyatt hotel, there is one in Gamla Stan called Hotel Reisen. Another hotel in Gamla Stan that we stopped at was the Lady Hamilton Hotel which was in a quiet area.

Gamla Stan is not quite as convenient as the Strandvagen area, but it may be quieter.

You can read reviews of hotels on tripadvisor.com as well as booking.com and hotels.com which may be helpful.

Most definitely. Sleeping in Gamla Stan makes for an unforgettable stay. Lady Hamilton is atmospheric. Consider Scandic Gamla Stan or the exclusive, absolutely unique, Hotel Sven Vintappare, with just seven rooms to their name.
