Stockholm hotel for one night

We need one night accomodations in Stockholm before flying home to Dulles airport. I see references in this Travel Forum for Hotel Wellington and will telephone a for a rate quote. RS Scandinavia book indicates there is a "free buffet dinner at Hotel Wellington"? Is Grand Hotel prohibitively expensive or worth it since it is for only one night.

Thank you.

Sallymoxley,
It is not "prohibitively" expensive when you consider you get the evening buffet dinner and the breakfast depending on when you need to depart for the airport. There are, I have heard, two Rick Steves' groups a week departing from the 60 room hotel, so that's a consideration. A less expensive option is their associated hotel around the corner, the Palan. If you haven't already called, I would ask about that option, again depending on when you will be in Stockholm. Best of luck. You will enjoy Stockholm.

Scandic is a good hotel chain with several hotels in Stockholm.

I've stayed at the Hotel Wellington three times. First for a RS tour, then on my own, both in 2015. Last summer I was there again and noted that they had scaled down the dinner choices, just FYI. Having said that, it's a nice hotel in a good area, and, for Scandinavia, I don't think it's unreasonably expensive, especially if you book directly on their website.

Thank you Badger, Davey and CSLH34 for your helpful responses to my question. I have made reservations for one night at The Hotel Wellington Stockholm.
