Can anyone recommend some day trips from Stockholm? We r already thinking about the ferry to Vaxholm. Thx, JimS.

What are you looking for? What are your interests? You haven't told us anything about your trip and what you want to see and do, so it's hard to give anything but general suggestions. And those can be found in any guide book.

There are several easy day trips from Stockholm. Here are a few to consider: Uppsala (40-60 min. north by frequent train), Drottningholm Palace (1 hour by boat, boats hourly or also accessible by subway & bus combination), Sigtuna (1 hour by train & bus combination). See the "Near Stockholm" chapter of Rick's Scandinavia or Stockholm guidebooks for details. You can also use a website like www.rome2rio.com for finding transportation options.
