My husband and I will be in Stockholm from Friday, March 27 through Tuesday, March 31. What suggestions do you have for a hotels in a central location and an itinerary that allows us to soak up the winter cultural and see the main sights. We are open to a day trip or two.
We liked both Hotel Nobis and Home Hotel Wellington. Both are within walking distance of the harbor, Gamla Stan, museums. Nobis is fancier and has an incredible breakfast. Wellington had a good breakfast and light dinner included in the room rate.
We haven't been there yet, so can't review, but we just booked the Radisson Blu Waterfront for early April. Waterfront views, full service, directly adjacent to train station, good rate.
I have the Radisson Collection Strand Hotel booked for my upcoming trip. It was recommended by multiple people here on the forum.
As far as sights, I always start with the Rick Steves guidebook.
We really liked Hotel Diplomat on Strandvagen. It is in a great waterfront location and had a nice breakfast and good restaurant. It was walkable to the Vasa Museum and Gamla Stan areas also. The Glashuset (Glass House) Restaurant across the street had a great menu and waterfront view. The Ostermalmstorg metro station was easy to walk to as well.
