Stockholm Card and day trips

Has the Stockholm Card been discontinued? It appears that the Stockholm Pass does not include public transportation. If you want transportation also do you have to buy the Stockholm Pass and a SL card?
My family will be in Stockholm at the end of May and would like to take some day trips from the city. Is it possible to do Uppsala and Sigtuna on the same day and the what is the easiest way to do so?

The Stockholm Card has been discontinued. Maybe I don't understand what you mean by "public transportation". When we were there last July we used the Stockholm Pass for the HOHO bus and boats, for the Canal Tours, and for the boat ride to Drottningholm Palace. It worked fine for all those just as the website currently says. It does not appear to work for the subway or (nontourist) bus systems, so if that's what you want, it's likely you will need a pass or tickets for those. While we were in Stockholm we spent one day in Uppsala with a US friend who is living there currently. It was very easy and not too expensive to buy a RT train ticket at the Stockholm central train station the morning of our trip to Uppsala. I think the trip was around 30 minutes or less. We spent the greater part of the day there and felt like we had seen much but not all of what Uppsala has to offer. I can't comment on trying to "do" Sigtuna also. If you are going there for the rune stones as RS recommends, be aware that there are rune stones in Uppsala too, perhaps not as many. There is a nice cluster of them right in front of the University. Have a great trip, Sweden is very pleasant.
